Shamseh, meaning little sun, is a rosette-shaped ornamental design with Islamic roots. Drawn in different shapes, from stars with various tiers to circles with various numbers of rays around, Shamseh is used in a broad spectrum of context, from decorating books and texts, to grounding the centrality of Persian rugs, and to transcend a dome in architecture. It usually includes repetitive symbolic geometrical and/or floral patterns.

Our “Bike” takes its riders to the colorful and limitless world of a Shamseh, through a meditative and endless journey. It will show how the motifs of a Shamseh tie together.
